Inter-disciplinary contradictions and the influence of science on policy

Article Abstract:

Inter-disciplinary disagreements often undermine the influence of science in all the streams as the proponents of different views fight for their conclusions to be accepted cancelling out each other's influence. However, a reconciliation can be achieved since the disciplines are mostly complementary and the domains on which their conclusions are based are inter-related. People are depending more on science, and disciplinary conflicts will confuse the masses about its status.

The utilization of social science in political decision making will be more prevalent if this social discourse and interaction is free and unbiased. The influence will be different from the traditional illegitimate relationship between policy and science.
