Iraq: Country report on human rights practices-2002

Article Abstract:

The report states that Iraq claiming to be a democratic republic with an estimated population of 24 million people remained extremely poor, and it continued to commit numerous serious human right abuses. The unlawful deprivation of life, disappearance, torture, punishment, interference with privacy, family, home, trafficking persons within the country resulted in repression and oppression, sustained by discrimination and widespread terror.

Human Rights in Saddam's Iraq: the violent coercion and repression of the Iraqi people

Article Abstract:

Saddam Hussein's regime's attack on Iraqi citizens for thousand of years is disavowed by United Nations Organization who studied the issue. Iraqi citizens faced suffering and death, arbitrary execution, detention, torture, rape, religious persecution under Saddam's regime. The Iraqi exile community was assassinated in their own countries of refuge where they deserved better future.

Clarity and confusion in the human rights debate: An editorial

Article Abstract:

The implications of the term human rights and moral and political interpretations of human rights are discussed. It is claimed that people have human rights simply because they re human, or because of their humanity, has almost universally been dismissed by philosophical skeptics as metaphysical nonsense.
