Iraqi nuclear file kept open, new VX concerns

Article Abstract:

The UN Security Council has rejected a Russian proposal to end inspections of Iraq's past nuclear activities in response to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) citing still unresolved issues. The IAEA concluded that that there is no absolute assurance that Iraq has fully complied with the UN resolution. US Ambassador to the UN Bill Richardson asserts that the report is an indication of Iraq's failure to provide information on its nuclear weapons capabilities and has called for continued inspection of the country's nuclear file.
