Ludwig von Mises strongly supported a free-market economy, and this position has been further advanced by scholars emphasizing the need for entrepreneurs looking for new profit opportunities. Corrective practices, however, are not necessarily market processes, since the first are short-term practices.

Ludwig von Mises and the case for gold

Article Abstract:

Ludwig von Mises opposed most of his contemporaries with his support of the gold standard, primarily because he believed managed fiat money was less stable. The worth of a gold standard is properly determined by comparing its history with that of fiat standards.
