Locked into security

Article Abstract:

The increase in domestic burglary in the UK has highlighted the need for greater security. Shutters are an excellent deterrent used by Europeans for centuries. They are not so easy to use in the UK as windows open externally rather than internally. Laminated double glazing should be used whenever possible. Insurance companies insist on key-operated window locks. The best system is manufactured by the German company Gretsch Unitas. By operating the handle a number of bolts are fitted into place around the frame strengthening the sash and frame.

An act of war

Article Abstract:

The one-act play 'Srebrenica,' currently being performed at the Tricycle Theatre in London, England, was inspired by a visit made by director Nicholas Kent to the trial of Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, his leading general, on charges of war crimes in Srebrenica, Bosnia. The play is pure courtroom drama, with all the action taking place in a hi-tech tribunal chamber. The action, which lasts for 65 minutes, gives four points of view.
