Gender inequity in labor relations is examined in the unionization of elementary school teachers in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, MO. This case study examines nonprofit organization unionization and the gender basis of power relations.

There are fewer female board members and board executives in nonprofits than men even though the major workforce and volunteers of nonprofits are women. Recruiting suggestions are provided.
