Philadelphia critics silencing critics

Article Abstract:

The NAACP is still an active agent in changing the prevalent social structure. Its Philadelphia branch has called for an Afro-American police commissioner in summer, 1992. With rampant crimes in the city, NAACP members deemed it necessary to have a police commissioner who can effect favorable change in the area. The organization also demanded investigations when an Afro-American family became the subject of racial violence on Independence Day. NAACP has never backtracked from its position of fighting for social justice and recognition.
