START II resolution of ratification

Article Abstract:

The document, START II Resolution of Ratification, confirms the treaty between the US and the Russian Federation on Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms. The treaty, signed in Moscow on Jan 3, 1993, includes two protocols and one memorandum of understanding, which are subject to the declarations and conditions of the resolution. The eight conditions laid down are obligatory to the President while twelve declarations are expressions of the Senate's intent.

Joint statements of the Helsinki summit

Article Abstract:

Presidents Clinton and Yeltsin signed joint statements to assert their commitment to nuclear security and balance of power. Contained in the separate joint statements were instructions on the demarcation between Anti-Ballistic Missiles and Theater Missile Defense systems, European Security and Chemical Weapons. The United States and Russia promised to act in a spirit of mutual cooperation, openness and dedication to the signed treaties.

START II resolution of ratification

Article Abstract:

A translation of Russia's resolution of ratification on the Treaty on the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Arms is presented. The resolution allows Russia to withdraw from START II if the US violates or withdraws from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.
