Issues concerning efforts to prevent whaling are examined. Topics include on the history of whaling since 1000 AD off the coast of Spain; the near total destruction of the whale population during the 20th century; the moratorium on whaling in 1982; objections to the moratorium; the policies of Japan and Norway, which continue to whale; and the authority of international environmental managers.
