South Asian nuclear parity opens door for resolving Kashmir

Article Abstract:

The nuclear weapons tests carried out by India and Pakistan could pave the way for the resolution of the long-standing Jammu and Kashmir conflict between the two countries. The international community should take a proactive and constructive role in defusing the tension in South Asia by sending an impartial mediator. Since it is widely believed that India and Pakistan are trying to shore up their respective positions with respect to the Kashmir dispute through nuclear weapons programs, resolving the conflict will reduce the need to build nuclear capabilities.

Poor girls

Article Abstract:

Women's movement still has a long way to go to eradicate sex discrimination. In some countries, gender discrimination can be a terrifying reality expressed in physical terms such as neglect of health. However, this is the direct result of poverty. Empowerment is closely linked with economic independence. Focus should be on effort to help women be on their own feet.
