The debacle in Cote d'Ivoire

Article Abstract:

The public's hopes that 2005 would see an end of hostilities between rebels and government forces in Cote d'Ivoire were shattered since neither disarmament nor elections took place. Even with the appointment of a new coalition cabinet, the prospects for democracy remain bleak, as armed militias control much of the country and its once-booming economy is in distress.

The sequencing "Fallacy"

The transition of countries from dictatorship to democracy has been examined. The results show that they face many hurdles during this process such as violence.
