The perpetual crises of democracy

Article Abstract:

Democracy is and always would be in some kind of crisis, since it engenders dissatisfaction about the present and hope about the future in citizens of nations. However, the principle of popular sovereignty, or the sovereignty exercised by citizens in freely choosing who would govern them is the most powerful resource of democracy and is also its victory in the world.

Why the rule of law matters

Article Abstract:

The rule of law is among the essential pillars upon which any high quality democracy rests. A truly democratic rule of law that ensures political rights, civil liberties and affirm the political equality of all citizens and constrain potential abuses of state power is needed.

Toward Muslim democracies

Article Abstract:

The available empirical data shows that two-thirds of the Muslim population in the world is living under democratic governments and this encourages the Arab and Muslim advocates of democracy to take the long and arduous road ahead in their fight against autocracy.
