Out in the Field: Broward County, Florida
Article Abstract:
Private industry has played a significant part in the revitalization of Broward County, Florida's Vocational, Technical and Adult Education (VTAE). Advisory committees composed of educators, students, business people and professionals are available for each Broward VTAE program. These committees provide direction in program planning, facility design, equipment purchase and instructor qualifications. This cooperation between education and industry has resulted in Broward VTAC students receiving a high quality, state-of-the-art preparation for their careers.

'When I was little, in 1995'
Article Abstract:
A panel of 15 boys and girls ages 10-13 discuss gender equality now and in the future, and sexism that they encounter in school and on the playground. Some of the children believe that there are many positive changes for women ahead, while others think that change will continue to be slow and gradual. Other topics discussed include working mothers and role models for girls.
