The spirit of humility

Article Abstract:

The US was built on a foundation of healthy doubt and because its founders had the courage to doubt. This ease with living in a state of uncertainty until better evidence becomes available is exemplified in the country's institutions and predicates the peaceful transfer of power. The nation's democratic system of government is grounded in a spirit of humility that acknowledges the limits of human knowledge, and is evaluated.

How to reform the electoral college

Article Abstract:

The United States, for the fourth time in its history, is being run by a president who won the Electoral College, but not the popular vote. Rather than replacing the current election system with a direct election, which can weaken the party system, perhaps the Electoral College should be reformed to accommodate the type of situation that arose in the 2000 election.
