Towards a conservative law and economics

Article Abstract:

Conservative law and economics seeks to explain and control the behavior of individuals without recourse to a system of ideology. Conservative law and economics relegates systems of absolute laws, such as freedom and equality and adheres to the Socratic conception of law as an art. The construct limits economic analysis to deliberating on individuals' behaviors and the means to control it. Judge Richard Posner tried to build a system of law upon the principles of wealth and maximization. Economist William F. Campbell suggests that economics can explain the working of the world.
