Turbulent waters

Article Abstract:

The maritime borders of Australia and Indonesia run alongside one another, but there is little political, military and cultural contact between the two nations, with mutual suspicion more common than mutual cooperation. Parliamentarians in both countries are being urged to overcome old hostilities and agree to the new Australia-Indonesia Agreement on the Framework for Security Co-operation in 2006, but citizens still have many mutual misgivings.
