Adolescents' experiences of parental employment and parenting: connections to adolescents' well-being

Article Abstract:

The role of parenting behavior in the relationship between parental work and adolescents' well-being is examined. Results showed that the relationships between parents' negative work experiences and adolescents' depression were partially mediated by adolescents' experience of lessened autonomy granting in parenting and increased conflicts between parents and adolescents.

Adolescent voting for right-wing extremist parties and readiness to use violence in political action: Parent and peer contexts

Article Abstract:

The determinants of adolescent deviant political behavior indicated by voting for a right-wing extremist party and willingness to utilize violence in political action is examined among East-German adolescents. It is found that the voting behavior and willingness to use violence are associated with membership in peer groups who met frequently.

Brief report: initial psychometric properties of the everyday discrimination scale in black adolescents

Article Abstract:

Select psychometric properties of the Everyday Discrimination Scale in 120 African-American adolescents, with 65 males and 55 females, are explored. A t-test analysis revealed that Everyday Discrimination Scale scores were not significantly different for males and female (p>0.18).
