An evaluation of the implementation of a specialized treatment of sexual offenders program

Article Abstract:

The Specialized Treatment of Offender Program (STOP) was developed to reflect the changing attitudes of the public toward sexual offenders. Sexual assault often causes severe trauma, and by the program's relatively low cost intervention, the program is regarded as an effective way of preventing further sexual victimization.

A 14- to 24- year longitudinal study of a comprehensive sexual health model treatment program for adolescent sex offenders: predictors of successful completion and subsequent criminal recidivism

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine the effectiveness of a sexually positive adolescent sexual offender treatment program and to examine subsequent criminal recidivism in a group. The study reveals that the treated participants were not arrested or convicted for sex-related crimes.
