An intervention to increase father involvement and skills with infants during the transition to parenthood

Article Abstract:

A study investigates whether a group educational intervention during the transition to parenthood for first-time parents improves the quality of father-child interaction and increases father involvement with their children. It is concluded that a relatively brief intervention during transition to parenthood improves men's fathering skills with their infants and in their time involvement during work days, even as reasons for differential effects on various areas of parenting are examined.
