Assessing acute stress disorder: psychometric properties of a structured clinical interview

Article Abstract:

The Acute Stress Disorder Interview was validated against clinician-based diagnoses of acute stress disorder (ASD). Results showed that the inventory possessed good internal consistency, specificity and sensitivity. Its test-retest reliability was strong and diagnostic agreement for presence and absence of ASD diagnosis was high. These suggested that the inventory is a useful tool in identifying individuals who suffer from ASD and are at risk of long-term posttraumatic stress disorder.

Factor structure and the interpretation of the K10

Article Abstract:

The Kessler 10 psychological distress scale (K10) is a brief 10-item questionnaire that was examined in a prospective community survey and cross-validate in a separate large community survey. The careful construction of the K10 scale means that it is likely to become one of the most widely used mental health screening instruments in contemporary psychiatry.
