Article Abstract:

Brian Mishara's model of suicide and suicidal tendencies makes good use of connectionist modeling, although its simplicity sacrifices realism to some extent. The model nevertheless can give useful insights to clinical psychologists who are bewildered by their inability to predict the decision of an individual to commit suicide. It induces a dynamic systems way of thinking that challenges the methods of traditional psychologists.

Commentary

Article Abstract:

Ofra Mayseless' model of attachment behavior in both infants and adults is a generally enlightening one although his assertion that both human stages have a continuity is not supported by much empirical data. Nevertheless, Mayseless' speculations are backed up by four longitudinal attachment studies, not all of which, however, are robust. There is a need to come up with further research on the matter.
