Skills training for adaptive affect regulation in a woman with binge-eating disorder

Article Abstract:

Skills training treatment focusing on adaptive affect regulation education was tested on a 36-yr-old obese woman with severe binge-eating disorder. The treatment successfully enhanced the woman's capacity to regulate her emotions. After the treatment, she no longer classified as one with binge eating disorder. The test demonstrated the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training in treating binge eating disorder.

Childhood obesity and attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder: A newly described comorbidity in obese hospitalized children

Article Abstract:

The study describes a subgroup of children presenting with obesity and comorbid attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) and assessed a possible casual relationship. It is suggested that obese children should be screened routinely for AD/HD.
