Content validity in psychological assessment: a functional approach to concepts and methods

Article Abstract:

Content validity, a part of construct validity, is the extent to which elements of an assessment instrument are appropriate and the degree to which they represent the hypothesis of an assessment purpose. There are a number of features in construct validity, all of which can have an effect on the obtained scores. The definition, importance and the operational nature of content validity have been analyzed and methods of content validation have been suggested.

Dynamical models for psychological assessment: phase space functions

Article Abstract:

Improvements in accurate predictions of future time course of variables and nature of casual relationships, especially pertaining to clinical assessment scenarios, can be attained by focusing attention on temporal, dynamic and nonlinear features of parameters. Inferential flaws in cross-sectional research can be mitigated to a large extent by extensively analyzing dynamic time course functions of variables.

Reliability and construct validity of the Paired-Associate Recognition Test: a test of declarative memory using Wisconsin Card Sorting stimuli

Article Abstract:

Assessment of the reactions of 55 healthy adults of both sexes to the Paired-Associate Recognition Test (PART) revealed the utility of this model in testing declarative memory and illustrated its performance to be directly correlated to declarative memory processes. This illustrates the potential versatility of PART in physiologic neuroimaging studies of memory and executive functioning in schizophrenics.
