Does the evidence point to a binge eating phenotype?: comment on Gordon et al. (2007) and Wonderlich et al. (2007)

Article Abstract:

The articles written by Gordon and others and Wonderlich and others provide a different classification for the binge eating disorders. They also prove that various psychopathological and personality features, including the body size and shape are the most important aspects of eating disorder diagnoses.

The relationship of weight suppression and dietary restraint to binge eating in bulimia nervosa

Article Abstract:

A study focused on the relation of weight suppression between dietary self-control and overindulgence on bulimia nervosa (BN). Results revealed that weight suppression was directly related and dietary suppression was inversely related to binge eating in patients with BN.

Medical morbidity in binge eating disorder

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the association of binge eating disorder on physical health. The authors, analyzing existing studies, maintain binge eating disorder may be associated with medical morbidity independent of comorbid obesity or comorbid psychopathology.
