Effects of stress on sleep: the moderating role of coping style

Article Abstract:

A quasi-experimental study was conducted on 36 students by means of actigraphy and daily logs during low-stress and high-stress periods to evaluate the relation between stress and sleep. The results obtained through data analysis revealed that a high-emotion coping score was significantly predictive of reduction in sleep time from the low to the high-stress period suggesting that the coping style was a key factor in assessing the relationship between stress and sleep.
