Gambling among offenders: Results from an Australian survey

Article Abstract:

The results of a recent Australian survey of gambling, problem gambling and gambling related crimes among offenders is outlined and the findings indicate that 34% of participants had some form of gambling problem. A significant implication is that offenders with gambling problems need to be given therapeutic services in order to reduce the prevalence of gambling problems.

Time for a change: applying the good lives model of rehabilitation to a high-risk violent offender

Article Abstract:

The Good Lives Model (GLM) of offender rehabilitation that is relatively new approach to working with offenders that can be contrasted with more traditional Risk-Need-Responsivity approach is discussed. Step-by-step framework for assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and monitoring with a high-risk violent offender that is present in the community is given.

Juvenile sex-only and sex-plus offenders: An exploratory study on criminal profiles

Article Abstract:

Research done on the criminal profiles of many juvenile sex-only and sex-plus delinquents in the Netherlands is discussed. It was seen that sex-plus offenders start their careers earlier and more of them are of non-Dutch origin and they commit more crimes.
