Immediacy and certainty in intertemporal choice

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on the relationship between time delay and uncertainty, with emphasis on the immediacy and the certainty effects. Results indicated that immediacy is more likely to be a derivative of certainty than the reverse. It was also proposed that laboratory experiments could undermine the significance of uncertainty underlying time delays. The study showed the complexity of investigating intertemporal choice from both theoretical and methodological perspectives.

Perspectives of behavioral decision making: some critical notes

Article Abstract:

Two common themes are shared by a range of significant issues in behavioral decision making. One is the dialectic difference between the normative and descriptive perspectives, contrary to the long-held belief that the normative and descriptive domains are one and the same. The other is the interrelation of visceral and other noncognitive factors in explaining judgment and decision making and human behavior in general.

The meaning of indifference in choice behavior: asymmetries in adjustments embodied in matching

Article Abstract:

A state of indifference is associated with a configuration of the attribute values, of both options, for which a decision-maker will be indecisive between the two options. A classification according to which the outcome of a matching task would depend on the direction in which it is performed and nature of the attribute being adjusted is proposed.
