Article Abstract:

A study using questionnaires was conducted to characterize the structure of eating disorders among female twins. The study developed a general description of eating disorders, namely, overweight women who are dissatisfied with their weight and shape, underweight women who are suffering from anorexic behaviors, overweight women who are using vomiting and laxatives and normal women who suffer from binging and are using extreme method of weight control. The results indicate that the different categories in the general description should be considered in analyzing eating disorders.
