Literacy difficulties and psychiatric disorders: Evidence for comorbidity

Article Abstract:

The specific literacy difficulties and psychiatric disordes are investigated in a large-scale national sample of children aged 9 to 15 years is discussed. Results revealed that literacy difficulties are significantly associated with externalizing disorders through inattention, but may constitute an immediate risk factor for naturally anxious children to develop clinically significant levels of anxiety.

Conduct disorder and oppositional defiant disorder in a national sample: developmental epidemiology

Article Abstract:

The epidemiology of two anti social disorders Conduct Disorder (CD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) on 5 to 15 year olds is studied. CD was more prevalent in boys than in girls and increased with age whereas ODD fell with age and both diagnoses showed comorbidity with other non-antisocial disorders.

Time trends in adolescent mental health

Article Abstract:

There are important trends in adolescents' behavioral and emotional problems. Increasing rates of conduct problems are found for males and females, for young people in all social groups, and for all family types.
