Marital conflict and preadolescent behavioral competence: maternal knowledge as a longitudinal mediator

Article Abstract:

The effects of hostile marital conflicts and maternal knowledge on preadolescent's behavior within a family are examined. The results show that children whose parents are aware of their child's whereabouts, behaviors and acquaintances, are well-behaved, and more confident of their conduct irrespective of parental conflicts.

Children and marital conflict resolution: implications for emotional security and adjustment

Article Abstract:

Children's responses to marital conflict endings and its effect on their emotional security and adjustment are studied. The results show that conflicts ending in verbal abuse and withdrawal or submission have a negative emotional reaction in children then conflicts ending with apology and compromise or topic change.

Gender moderates the relationship between testosterone and marital interaction

Article Abstract:

Research finds that high testosterone levels are associated with dominance and assertiveness, thus it is hypothesized that testosterone should be considered as a factor in the relationship between husband and wife. Topics include how testosterone influences adaptive support and problem-solving skills among spouses.
