Multiple partners in the age of AIDS: self-consciousness theory and HIV risk behaviour

Article Abstract:

A study of 143 college women and 111 college men showed that self-consciousness, peer pressure and gender play a part in whether the participant engaged in unsafe sexual activity with multiple partners. Men who were publicly self-conscious felt the need to prove their masculinity by engaging in unsafe sex practices.

Effects of inhibiting of response on Tower of London performance

Article Abstract:

Research presented concerns the validity of the 'Tower of London' (TOL) psychological tool used as a measure of problem-solving ability. Topics addressed include the role of inhibition in problem-solving tasks, and if the performance on the TOL is improved through the inhibiting of responses.

Equivalence of computerized and conventional versions of the Beck depression inventory-II (BDI-II)

Article Abstract:

A comparison of the computerized and traditional versions of the Beck Depression Inventory-II is presented. Research results indicate that both versions are equivalent in terms of measurement validity.
