Optimism and pessimism as predictors of change in health after death or onset of severe illness in family

Article Abstract:

An examination conducted to see the changes in health after a major life event among 5,007 employees whose optimism and pessimism levels were assessed in 1997 and major life events in 2000 are discussed. It was found that optimism may reduce the risk of health problems and may be related to a faster recovery after a major life event.

Sleeping problems and health behaviors as mediators between organizational justice and health

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that sleeping problems in hospital employees do have a role in the causage of adverse health effects of low organizational justice a work as shown by examining 416 male and 3,357 female employees. However, there is no role for health beahviors in the relationship between organizaional justice and health.

Cardiac autonomic reactivity and recovery in predicting carotid atherosclerosis: the Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study

Article Abstract:

A study on the risk of cardiovascular diseases in young Finns is presented. The role of cardiac autonomic reactivity to a psychological change, as a risk factor for the development of carotid atherosclerosis, is examined.
