Parasite prevalence and richness in sympatric colobines: Effects of host density

Article Abstract:

Proximity, number and duration of contacts among individuals influenced parasite transmission and prevalence, species richness increase with increased host density are examined. It showed that colobus population and density doubled, no increase in richness of the parasite community and as per the decrease and increase in gastrointestinal parasite the population of colobus decreased and increased accordingly.

Primate assemblage structure in Amazonian flooded and unflooded forests

Article Abstract:

The assemblage structure of primates in adjacent unflooded and seasonally inundated forests is presented. Results suggest that floodplain forest is a crucial complement to terra firme in terms of primate conservation in Amazonian forests.
