Patient-appraised couple emotion management and disease management among Chinese American patients with type-2 diabetes

Article Abstract:

The linkages between patient-appraised couple emotion management and disease management among the Chinese American patients with type 2 diabetes are examined. The study shows significant main effects between patient-appraised couple emotion management, especially conflict resolution, and the morale component of disease management, but not the biological or behavioral components. Both diabetes-specific and general relationship qualities were independently linked to disease management.

Pathways to alcohol use among Dutch students in regular education and education for adolescents with behavioral problems: The role of parental alcohol use, general parenting practices, and alcohol-specific parenting practices

Article Abstract:

A study examines the association between general parenting practices, alcohol-specific parenting practices, parental drinking and adolescent alcohol consumption in the Netherlands. Findings reveal that alcohol-specific rule enforcement plays an intervening role between parental behavioral control and/or parental alcohol use and adolescent alcohol use, with not much difference in the studied associations for students in regular and special education.
