Patterns of psychological test usage in Hong Kong in 1993

Article Abstract:

Clinical and educational psychologists in Hong Kong frequently use the Chinese form of intellectual tests and projective tests such as the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Merril-Palmer Scale of Mental Tests and the Vineland Social Maturity Scale. They also reported a low frequency in the usage of neuropsychological battery tests and vocational inventories. Meanwhile, self-administered psychological scales are gaining in usage among psychologists.

A feedback-consultation model efficiently incorporated personality assessment in providing enhanced delivery of mental health services by allowing examining psychologists to use test paradigms and sampling methods in better understanding human behavior. This service model fulfills the expectations of medical practitioners, care providing companies as well as the patients.
