Positive emotion and health: Going beyond the negative

Article Abstract:

The effects of positive emotion on three physician-diagnosed health outcomes namely hypertension (HT), diabetes mellitus (DM), and respiratory tract infections (RTIs) was examined. It was found that higher levels of curiosity lead to the decreased likelihood of hypertension and diabetes mellitus and positive emotion plays a protective role in the development of disease.

Effects of hypertension on attention, memory, and executive function in older adults

Article Abstract:

The relationship between hypertension and cognitive function in the elderly people is discussed. The factor analysis of the older adults confirms the general factor structure of the cognitive drug research (CDR) system and demonstrates deficits in speed of cognition, episodic memory and other factors in the hypertensive patients.

Cognitive and psychological outcomes of exercise in a 1-year follow-up study of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Article Abstract:

The outcomes of the self-directed exercise activity on cognitive functioning and psychological well-being of 28 adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are evaluated. The continued exercise among the patients with COPD is associated with maintenance of physical, cognitive and psychological functioning.
