Social influences on the acquisition of sex-typical foraging patterns by juveniles in a group of wild tufted capuchin monkeys (cebus nigritus)

Article Abstract:

The variability of foraging patterns across age and sex classes is studied along with the proximity patterns of juveniles to adults of both sexes in a group of wild tufted capuchin monkeys living in the Iguazu National Park, Argentina. The findings suggest that the acquisition of foraging by juvenile males is socially biased by their closeness to adults of the same sex.

Circadian cortisol secretion and circadian adrenal responses to ACTH are maintained in dexamethasone suppressed capuchin monkeys (Cebus apella)

Article Abstract:

The oscillatory properties of adrenal glands in capuchin monkeys were found to influence the circadian rhythm of adrenal cortisol secretion. Suppression of adrenocorticotropic hormone by dexamethanose does not affect the activity of adrenal glands due to presence of these properties.
