The effects of racial stressors and hostility on cardiovascular reactivity in African American and Caucasian men

Article Abstract:

This article uses film clips to investigate cardiovascular reactivity to hostility and racism in Caucasian and African American men. Results indicate that film clips containing racist and anger-provoking material were associated with higher levels of diastolic blood pressure levels when compared to responses to neutral clips in both groups.

Time-of-day effects on response of natural killer cells to acute stress in men and women

Article Abstract:

A report on the diurnal influences on natural killer cell changes to acute stress is given. Responses of 21 men and 21 women to an acute stress or control task condition were used and indicated changes in natural killer cell activity to be driven primarily by diurnal influences.

Lipid reactivity to stress: comparison of chronic and acute stress responses in middle-aged airline pilots

Research about how psychological stress affects lipid responsivity for middle-aged people. Physiological response to various stress factors on apoproteins, and low and high density lipoprotein are discussed.
