The lay assessment of subclinical depression in daily life

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine how layperson assesses subclinical depression in others on the basis of information about their daily lives. Judges were more accurate among moderately and severely depressed participants was revealed through the exploratory analyses, presumably due to the cues judges used for assessing depression discriminated successfully only at high levels of subclinical depression.

Self-expressiveness within the family context: psychometric support for a new measure

Article Abstract:

Usage of the Self-Expressiveness in the Family Questionnaire Proved useful in accurately ascertaining the emotional expressiveness in 499 mothers and 362 fathers. This measure is found to possess good convergent, discriminant, construct validity and internal consistency in assessing marital and parent-child problems.
