Risperidone and bullous pemphigoid

Article Abstract:

The development of bullous pemphigoid was reported in a 74-year-old hospital patient with Parkinson's disease during treatment with risperidone. The patient, who was confined due to dementia of either Alzheimer's or Lewy body (2) type, was being treated with levodopa and carbidopa. Thirteen days after risperidone was added to the combined regimen, however, the patient developed on his forearms a bullous eruption on a background of erythematous skin.
