Female juvenile murderers: beyond the grace factor

Article Abstract:

This article presents a therapist's personal narrative regarding the treatment of a woman who survived an abusive childhood and was convicted of murder during her teenage years. Relevant topics include the patient's transition from a dangerous teenager to a prosocial adult and the increase of violent crimes committed by teenage girls.

Childhood cruelty to animals and subsequent violence against humans

Article Abstract:

This article examines whether or not children who act cruelly towards animals have a greater risk for committing violence against humans. A survey of violent offenders shows that they were more likely to have abused animals as children than non-offenders.

Youth homicide: a review of the literature and a blueprint for action
