Drumbeat 2.0

Article Abstract:

Elemental's $699 Drumbeat 2.0 is a sophisticated Web-publishing tool that provides a GUI environment and hides technical details from the end user. Its interface resembles that of a print publishing tool. There are several panes in the main window for previewing layouts and Web-browser views, as well as an Asset Center with a drag-and-drop list of Web-page elements such as images, videos, animations, styles, interactions, content tables and links. The program is best at data import and at automatic page conversion for browser compatibility. Users can create pages with DHTML code viewable in 4.0 browsers only or set them to work with 3.0 browsers, making global changes with a single click, Data integration is superb, with a DataForm wizard that generates Active Server Pages and extensive database capabilities. Drumbeat 2.0 creates sophisticated Web sites without manual programming.
