Article Abstract:

The page layout of a church bulletin is redesigned with the intention of making the document more attractive and readable. One major problem with the initial layout was differentiating between various types of information. The problem is solved by grouping similar types of information together and identifying sections with bold headlines. The designers effective use of headlines, boxes and sidebars, clip art, white space and drop caps to enhance the bulletin's appearance is explained.

Studies indicate that publishers are constantly looking for new typefaces and ways to enhance old ones. A directory of fonts and related software for the Apple Macintosh, IBM PC-compatibles and Unix systems is provided.
