Banker with a global eye

Article Abstract:

JP Morgan Head of Global Real Estate Investment Jon Zehner suggests most of the UK investment banks have been slow in setting up operations overseas. He feels the main property agents, operating in the UK, have already been purchased by US firms. The real estate division of JP Morgan were the advisors on some 18 billion pounds sterling worth of acquisitions and mergers in 1998. Zehner has to spend much of his time travelling. His division has 35 employees operating from three offices, in Hong Kong, London, England, and New York.

City expects strong results ... as share prices fall further on Vodafone effect

Article Abstract:

An upbeat share market is forcing the up the share values of many UK property companies, with city analysis believing downward trends can be beaten during the early part of 2000. Poor results are failing to be translated into lower share prices which some believe may have dramatic results for the stock market as a whole. The success of telecommunications firm Vodafone has resulted in funds being diverted away from property, although returns are still expected to be high from the sector.

A pretty Coull deal

Article Abstract:

A massive 340 million pounds sterling property portfolio has been created by retail company Sainsbury's in an attempt to ensure rents up to the year 2023 and raise cash for an investment boost. The Redwing property deal was the concept of Sainsbury's group property director Ian Coull, whose brief was to create a flexible yet secure way of raising cash and benefiting the company.
