Building on initiative

Article Abstract:

The UK Private Finance Initiative, whereby private companies will finance, design, build and run public facilities, with public institutions purchasing services, is aimed at offering value for money and transferring risk to the provider of services from the user. Abandoned to the street

Article Abstract:

Communities need to help homeless schizophrenic people and their families. The stigma about mental disease should be replaced with society-wide understanding. Group homes would provide a safe and structured environment for mental patients who leave the hospital. The legal rights of these patients need to be protected, and social workers and doctors should renew their commitment to helping them.
