Cashing in on cost advantage

Article Abstract:

The towns of Kettering and Corby, England, have very different industrial markets, based mostly on local land prices. The marketing of industrial land in Corby by the Commission for the New Towns means that the town's land prices are considerably cheaper than in Kettering. An important occupier in Corby is the Channel Tunnel rail freight distribution centre, Eurohub, which has attracted several vehicle distributors. An overview of the industrial and commercial property markets in Corby and Kettering is presented.

Home side gets results

Article Abstract:

Activity in the commercial and industrial property market in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is mainly from local businesses and there is a demand for new, unlet, office buildings. There are few new development sites and a scarce supply of first-rate buildings available, with inward investment relatively low because of the lack of rent differential. An overview of activity in the industrial and commercial property markets in Tunbridge Wells is presented.

Building lifelines

Article Abstract:

The towns of Burgess Hill, Horsham and Haywards Heath in mid-Sussex have little in common economically or socially and there are difficulties in uniting their commercial and industrial property markets. Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath are set to benefit from new bypasses, but there is little interest in large-scale redevelopment. An overview of the commercial, industrial and retail property market in the mid-Sussex region is presented.
