Value creation: a key to maximizing compensation

Article Abstract:

The market for real estate executives has recovered, along with the industry itself, and real estate firms should make sure that their executive compensation programs are competitive. In general, executives should receive compensation commensurate with the value of the services they offer. It can be difficult to determine which executive functions, within the industry's various segments, are most closely related to value creation. Compensation for various classes of executive is discussed.

A tradition in transition: altering brokers' all-commission compensation

Article Abstract:

Study results have identified three compensation models that brokerage/full-service real estate firms use to compensate brokers. It appears that method of compensation delivery is more significant than actual level of compensation as a factor in attracting and keeping key brokerage professionals. Trends in broker compensation, as identified by the study, are discussed.
