Efficiency drives today's European call center decisions

Article Abstract:

Availability of labor and real estate prices are the two main concerns of European firms in setting up call centers. Since call centers are seen as cost centers, not profit centers, European corporations usually locate their call centers on previously occupied office space and exploit the limited space by putting in technologically upgraded equipment. Call centers with a high technological rating are those that use five of the following technologies: caller-line identification, screen popping, voice recognition, scripting, call blending, predictive dialing and cross-selling software.
