Glittering prizes?

Article Abstract:

The recession has had some impact on the property market in the West End of London, but the area is still stronger than many others, benefiting from its international reputation. There is a shortage of prime office space, with no new building over 50,000 sq ft currently being available. Some observers believe that severe problems could result from the oversupply of empty secondhand space, with the possibility of an area of decay emerging.

Article Abstract:

There is critcism that enterprise zones (EZs) simply attract occupiers from one part of the country to another, and that corporate investment in an EZ should be treated with caution. It is predicted that interest in EZs from institutional investors will diminish and there are calls for the faster creation of new zones and the reduction of the period during which benefits are offer within zones.
