Eyeballing 1996's top business climates: a sharp focus on results, time and perception

Article Abstract:

The 1996 business climate rankings by 'Site Selection' magazine lists the top 25 US states and the top 30 countries. The Southwest region remained strong as it garnered five of the top 25 states. Pennsylvania is the biggest newcomer since it landed in the 14th slot after being unranked in 1995. In the global scale, Hong Kong rose to the number two slot and European countries dropped because of strong perception that Europe has lost its competitiveness.
